Alan G. Bassman, CPA, ABV, CFF is a founding partner of our firm, having started his practice in 1979. On March 31, 2009 Alan successfully completed the AICPA requirements to use the certification "Accredited in Business Valuation" (ABV), and on June 30, 2009 he successfully completed the AICPA requirements to use the certification "Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF). He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
"The secret to success in this business is quite simple. I ask myself what I would do if I were in my client's shoes with my level of knowledge and expertise in business and taxation. This approach to serving my client's needs has never failed me."
Alan also has extensive experience as an expert witness and as a forensic accountant. "The role here is quite different than in a financial statement or tax preparation engagement. I must sort through a barrage of data supplied by both sides in a controversy and relentlessly seek the truth. You then must be able to present your findings in a manner that is understandable to counsel, the judge and jury."
Alan lives in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania with his wife, Heather and their children Max and Erin. He is chief pilot for the corporate plane, a Piper Twin Comanche, and has been flying since 1971. Alan's hobbies also include golf and skiing.
